Offdaze Mix No. 1
As promised, here’s the first little tape for y’all. Just a mix of some of our current favorite songs. I suppose I’ll put one of these up every Monday?
A little anecdote regarding the Rick James track: We happened upon the ‘Superfreak’ b/w ‘Give it to Me, Baby’ 45 a while back and were pondering the indubitably exorbitant cocaine intake during it’s recording. We decided the best way to discern for ourselves was to slow it down and play the single at 33 RPM. ‘Superfreak’ has a pretty rapey vibe, but ‘Give it to Me Slowly, Baby’ [as we’ve come to pen it] is quite possibly the grooviest track in existence.
